CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — The Presidential Security Command (PSC) held a formal Change of Command Ceremony on 05 March 2025 at Malacañang Palace, Manila, with General Romeo S Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), serving as the Presiding Officer.
During the ceremony, Major General Jesus Nelson B Morales PAF formally relinquished his post as Commander of the Presidential Security Command, turning over leadership to Brigadier General Peter B Burgonio PA, who will serve in an acting capacity.
As the outgoing PSC Commander, MGen Morales led the command with distinction, ensuring the safety, security, and protection of the President, the First Family, and visiting heads of state during official engagements.
BGen Burgonio, from the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1993, assumes the role as Acting Commander. His recent assignments include serving as Commander of the Army Intelligence Regiment, where he demonstrated his strategic acumen and operational proficiency.
The Presidential Security Command stands as the premier protective unit of the AFP, tasked with ensuring the physical security and safety of the President of the Philippines, the First Family, and the seat of government at Malacañang Palace.
General Brawner emphasized the importance of the PSC's mission in the face of evolving security challenges, urging all personnel to remain vigilant and committed to their duty. He also reiterated the AFP's full support to the PSC in its efforts to maintain the highest level of security for the President and the nation.///
