Render unwavering allegiance to nation, Brawner tells AFP

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, called on officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees of the military to be reminded of their duty to the flag and maintain unwavering allegiance to the country at the General Headquarters here on October 23.

The AFP is commemorating the 33rd anniversary of its Code of Conduct highlighted by the renewal of pledge of allegiance to the AFP Code of Conduct. 

“Today, let us reaffirm our dedication to the principles embodied in the AFP Code of Conduct, our respect to the Philippine flag, and our unwavering pledge of allegiance,” the CSAFP said in his message delivered by LtGen Arthur Cordura, Vice Chief of Staff AFP and Chief of the Office of Ethical Standards and Public Accountability.

General Brawner Jr also reminded all personnel of their responsibility to serve as role models and in exemplifying discipline to the nation.
“Being part of the AFP carries a great responsibility to uphold order, discipline, and integrity in all that we do. It is vital that we hold on to our moral compass and demonstrate the highest standards of conduct,” the CSAFP said.

“The code of conduct serves as a guide for our actions and behavior, that helps elevate the reputation of the AFP as a respected institution that serves the Filipino people and our nation,” he added as he stressed that the oath of allegiance goes beyond words. 

He also reminded all personnel to strive for excellence and become active participants in the realization of the AFP vision as a world-class armed forces and source of national pride.

The AFP Code of Conduct is based on Republic Act 6713 or the Act Establishing a Code of Conduct and Ethical Standards for Public Officials and Employees. ///
