CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP (TDCSAFP), VAdm Rommel Anthony SD Reyes PN, was honored with a Testimonial Parade and Review as he bid farewell to the active military service in a Retirement Ceremony conducted at the General Headquarters on March 15.
VAdm Reyes, who became the 78th TDCSAFP in February last year, rendered his final salute after serving the AFP for 38 years. Before becoming the TDCSAFP, he held notable positions in the AFP, such as Assistant Chief of Fleet Staff for Operations; F3 of the Philippine Fleet; Assistant Chief of Fleet Staff for CEIS, F6; Assistant Chief of Naval Staff for CEIS, N6; Commander, Naval Information and Communications Technology Center (NICTC); Commander, Communications Electronics Information System Service, AFP (CEISSAFP); and The Naval Inspector General, PN.
"I am very proud of the meaningful contributions I have made to the military, and I am honored to have served alongside the brave men and women who make up the Armed Forces of the Philippines," said VAdm Reyes.
VAdm Reyes turned over his responsibilities to his fellow member of PMA "Makatao" Class of 1989, LtGen William N Gonzales PA, who will serve as TDCSAFP in an acting capacity. LtGen Gonzales is currently The Inspector General, AFP.
The AFP Vice Chief of Staff, LtGen. Arthur M Cordura PAF, who represented the Chief of Staff, AFP, served as the presiding officer during the ceremony saying, "I am certain that our Armed Forces is beyond grateful and honored to have been led by a leader as principled and firm with his convictions as you are," as he thanked VAdm Reyes for his service.///(Photos by TSgt Obinque PAF and Pfc Carmelotes PN (M), PAOAFP)
