As part of his important role as the Chief of Staff, AFP (CSAFP), General Andres C Centino PA visited units under the Western Command (WESCOM) to check on the condition and morale of the troops in Palawan on May 17.
The CSAFP visited AFP troops at the Naval Station Narciso Del Rosario in Balabac; Headquarters Tactical Operations Wing West, Antonio Bautista Air Base; Headquarters Naval Forces West, Naval Station Carlito Cunanan in Puerto Princesa City; and Headquarters Western Command at Camp General Artemio G Ricarte where he was welcomed by WESCOM's Deputy Commander, BGen Amado V Dela Paz PAF.
During his talk, the CSAFP encouraged the troops under WESCOM, also called “the Patriots and Defenders of the Western Frontier,” to continue the good work in pursuing the campaign of addressing internal security threats. “I would rely on you to do your job here in Western Command, making sure to do your duties to secure the area. I would also like to assure you that our national leadership has been supportive of our desire to really improve our capability to defend our territory,” the CSAFP said.//
