AFP receives over $2.3 Million in equipment grants from U.S. Gov’t

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) received $2,304,728.39 worth of equipment grant from the United States government on Monday, May 2.

 

The various defense equipment arrived at the Haribon Terminal, Clark Air Base in Pampanga via a U.S. KC-10A aircraft. Upon its unloading, Supply Officers from the AFP Major Services inspected the hardware.

AFP seizes NPA firearms in Samar encounter

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The 63rd Infantry Battalion under the 8th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army figured in an encounter with suspected members of the Communist Terrorist Group NPA on Monday, May 2.

Troops conducting Focused Military Operations clashed against nine (9) personalities believed to be members of BUGSOK Pltn, SRC, SESAME at Sitio Lanaga, Barangay Cancaiyas, Basey, Samar.

AFP, Stakeholders donate almost P1 Million to rebuild Limasawa Island

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and its partner stakeholders turned over construction materials worth P950,000.00 to the people of Limasawa Island, Southern Leyte on Saturday, April 30.

The donated items came from the proceeds of the recently concluded ‘Heroes Adventure Challenge: Race to Rebuild Limasawa’ organized by Ms. Theresa Mae Conson of Smarties Apparel and Active Hub Events and Wellness. It sought to help the victims of Typhoon Odette through the reconstruction of their homes.

2 NPAs killed in Surigao Sur encounter

City - Two members of the communist terrorist New People's Army (CNTs) were killed in an encounter with soldiers of the 36th Infantry battalion on Friday, April 29 in Lanuza, Surigao del Sur.

Army's 4th Infantry Division said troops belonging to 36th IB under the 901st Infantry Brigade
while conducting security operations figured in a five minutes encounter with more or less 10 communist rebels believed to be members of Guerilla Front 30 of the North Eastern Mindanao Regional Committee (NEMRC) at Sitio Catupgas Brgy Nurcia, Lanuza.

2 NPAs yield, surrender firearms to AFP

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – Two NPA rebels in Quezon surrendered on April 27, 2022, as a result of joint military operations and successful delivery of government services.

Joint elements of the 85th Infantry Battalion, 59th Infantry Battalion, and 83rd Infantry Battalion facilitated the surrender in Sitio Buli, Brgr. Castañas, Sariaya, Quezon.
