CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines rendered full military honors on Tuesday, August 9, to former president Fidel V Ramos during the state funeral for the 12th President of the Republic of the Philippines.
A battalion-sized contingent of honor guards tendered departure honors for the late president at Heritage Park where he was laid in state.
CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente O Bacarro assumed as the new Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, replacing General Andres C Centino on Monday, August 8, in a Change of Command Ceremony presided by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
A member of the Philippine Military Academy Maringal Class of 1988, Lt. Gen. Bacarro held command and staff positions that prepared him for his present designation. He is the current commander of Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM), which covers CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, and Bicol regions. Prior to his stint as SOLCOM Commander, he was the commander of the 2nd Infantry Division, Philippine Army, and Commander of the 502nd Infantry Brigade.
CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - Arnisadors and Eskrimadors from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) dominated the recently concluded 16th World Eskrima Kali Aris Federation (WEKAF) Championship held in Mandaue City, Cebu from 17-22 July 2022, defeating participants from eight countries.
The AFP sent nine soldier-athletes who contributed 13 gold, eight silver and three bronze medals to the overall medal standing.
