AFP Chief of Staff awards medals to Army troops in Samar for gallantry in action against Communist Terrorists

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - For gallantry in action against the communist terrorist group (CTG), four Army troopers were awarded by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff, Tuesday in Samar.

General Andres C Centino, AFP Chief of Staff conferred the Gold Cross Medals to 1st Lieutenant Adonis Collado, Sergeant Vincent Bulan, and Corporal Ernesto Nuñez in a ceremony held at the 8th Infantry Division headquarters in Catbalogan, Samar.

9 NPAs yield, 30 firearms surrendered to AFP

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - Nine former members of the New People’s Army (NPA) guerilla front operating in Samar were presented to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday, March 29.

The relentless combat and non-combat operations of the Army’s 8th Infantry Division resulted in the surrender of Normie Quilapio, vice commander; and Adelfa Tebrero, political guide of Guerilla Front Damol, along with seven other members.

Philippines-United States Exercise Balikatan 2022 officially opens

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The 37th iteration of the Philippines-United States Exercise Balikatan was officially opened in a ceremony held at the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Headquarters on Monday, March 28.

Largest-ever Balikatan exercise set to begin in Philippines

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – Approximately 8,900 members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the U.S. military are teaming up for Balikatan 2022, the largest-ever iteration of the Philippine-led annual exercise taking place across Luzon, Mar. 28 to Apr. 8.

The 3,800 AFP members and 5,100 U.S. military personnel will train shoulder-to-shoulder focusing on maritime security, amphibious operations, live-fire training, urban operations, aviation operations, counterterrorism, and humanitarian assistance and disaster relief.
