CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – In commemoration of National Heroes Day yesterday, the Armed Forces of the Philippines in collaboration with the Manila Times, conducted a tribute to soldiers to recognize ten Outstanding Filipino soldiers for their contributions and sacrifices in pursuit of national peace and development.

“The partnership between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and The Manila Times for the Tribute to the Soldiers is a fitting testimony and affirmation of the importance of every soldier’s sacrifice and dedication. The story of our nation is woven from the many stories of our soldiers’ undaunted gallantry and uncommon service, all in pursuit of national peace and development,” said AFP Chief, General Romeo S Brawner Jr.

PH Navy welcomes visiting JMSDF Izumo and Samidare

The Philippine Navy extended good will to visiting Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force vessels JS Izumo (DDH-183), the lead ship of the Izumo-class multipurpose operation destroyer and JS Samidare (DD-106), a Murasame-class destroyer on August 24, 2023.

JMSDF ships Izumo and Samidare passed close aboard of BRP Davao del Sur (LD602) in the waters off Zambales and rendered Passing Honors with their personnel Manning The Rail. LD602 responds and salutes back, with personnel aboard waving at the visiting Japanese counterparts.

NATIONAL HEROES DAY 2023

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) participated in the commemoration of National Heroes Day today, August 28, at the Libingan ng mga Bayani in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

Led by the AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr PA, our soldiers came together to pay tribute to our noble heroes whose steadfast dedication and selfless sacrifice have left an enduring imprint on the history of the country.

The event was highlighted by a wreath-laying ceremony, a solemn act honoring those who have devoted their lives to the service of the nation.

PH-AUS EXERCISE ALON | Combined Amphibious Assault Exercise

Philippine Navy personnel recently conducted a Combined Amphibious Assault exercise alongside the Australian Defence Force at Naval Station Leovigildo Gantioqui in Zambales on August 25.

As part of Exercise Alon 2023 within Australia's Indo-Pacific Endeavour (IPE23) program, the simulation was aimed to practice an amphibious operation to reclaim an enemy-captured island.

Troops and amphibious assault vehicles from the Philippine Marine Corps as well as the landing dock BRP Davao del Sur LD602 were featured during the activity.

Philippine, Australian Armies kick off Exercise Carabaroo 2023 in Australia

The Philippine Army (PA) and Australian Army started Exercise Carabaroo 2023 at the 1st Combat Engineer Regiment (CER) Headquarters, Robertson Barracks, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia on August 26, 2023.

The bilateral exercise will be conducted across Gunn Point, Darwin City, Robertson Barracks, Melville Island, Tiwi Islands, and Channel Island. It aims at enhancing and increasing survivability, lethality, command, and control within the urban environment while enhancing the interoperability of multinational combined arms teams.
