AFP Chief meets Chief of Royal Thai Armed Forces, reaffirms defense engagement

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff, General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., received General Ukris Boontanondha, Chief of Defense Forces of the Royal Thai Armed Forces during a courtesy call on February 3, 2026 here at the AFP General Headquarters.
 
Arrival honors were rendered for General Boontanondha prior to the courtesy call. He was formally welcomed by General Brawner.
 
During the meeting, both military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, including regional security concerns, defense cooperation, and opportunities to further strengthen military-to-military engagement. The exchange underscored the value of sustained dialogue and cooperation in promoting peace and stability in the region.
 
General Brawner conveyed the AFP’s commitment to fostering strong professional relationships with partner armed forces, anchored on mutual respect and shared security objectives.
 
The AFP remains committed to advancing constructive defense engagements that contribute to regional peace, stability, and cooperation.///
