AFP Chief receives Brazil Defense Attaché in Introductory Call

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff, General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., received Captain Luciano da Silva Maciel, Brazil Defense Attaché to the Philippines, during an introductory call on February 3, 2026, at Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City.
 
The courtesy call served as an opportunity for both military officials to exchange views on matters of mutual interest, including defense cooperation and avenues for strengthening professional military engagement between the Philippines and Brazil.
 
General Brawner welcomed Captain Maciel and expressed the AFP’s appreciation for continued dialogue and collaboration with partner nations, underscoring the importance of constructive defense relations anchored on mutual respect and shared interests.
 
The AFP remains committed to advancing meaningful defense engagements that contribute to regional and international peace, stability, and cooperation.///
