CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), held a Philippines-Japan Chief of Defense VTC (Video Teleconference) with General Hiroaki Uchikura, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff of the Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF), on September 18.
The two leaders exchanged views on concrete measures to implement the agreements reached during the Japan-Philippines Defense Ministerial Meeting held on September 9. They also shared assessments of the evolving strategic environment in the Indo-Pacific region.
Both reaffirmed their commitment to continue working together in advancing defense cooperation between the AFP and JSDF.
