CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- A total of 40 newly-promoted generals and flag officers from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) took their oath of office before President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on September 17 at Malacañang Palace. Following the ceremony, the newly promoted officers paid a courtesy call on AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr., at the AFP General Headquarters, highlighting a notable achievement in their service to the nation.
Of the forty officers, twenty are from the Philippine Army, eight from the Philippine Air Force, ten from the Philippine Navy—including the Philippine Marine Corps—one from the AFP Dental Service, and one from the Corps of Professors.
In his address to the newly promoted officers, President Marcos said, “Now that you have taken your oaths, remember to set an example for the young men and women who will look to you for leadership. The new stars you now wear demand your utmost discipline, honor, and dedication to service."
"Today marks not only a milestone but also a renewed pledge of your unwavering loyalty to the Constitution and the Filipino people," President Marcos added.
The AFP leadership expressed full confidence that these newly promoted officers will continue to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and service as they take on greater responsibilities in safeguarding the nation and leading their respective units.
