CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- General Romeo S Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), led the celebration of the 87th Founding Anniversary of the Nurse Corps, AFP and the 60th Anniversary of the Military Nurses Association of the Philippines, Inc. (MNAP Inc.) in a ceremony held today, here.
The event honored decades of selfless service, resilience, and dedication of military nurses. General Brawner was joined by Brigadier General Ma. Dolores M Lim NC, AFP Chief Nurse, and Colonel Arlene B Valerio (Ret), President of the MNAP, Inc.
In his address, General Brawner paid tribute to the role of military nurses in upholding the highest standards of service, compassion, and professionalism in the line of duty.
“Military nurses are often described as healers, but in truth, they are more than that. They are soldiers in white—guardians of both life and hope—who serve with equal courage in war and in peace. You have proven that to serve in uniform also means to heal, to comfort, and to remind our soldiers and their families that they are never alone,” General Brawner said.
The AFP leadership reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Nurse Corps and supporting military medical frontliners, recognizing their vital contributions to national defense and humanitarian missions.
