CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) officially opened the AFP Civilian Human Resource Sportsfest 2025 today, uniting civilian personnel from across the organization to showcase unity, teamwork, and resilience.

With the theme, “Resilience Rise and Spirits Soar Through the AFP Civ HRs Sportsfest 2025,” the opening ceremony gathered hundreds of civilian employees from the GHQ, Combatant Commands and AFPWSSUs (GCA), Philippine Army, Philippine Navy, and Philippine Air Force. The event featured a grand parade of teams and the ceremonial lighting of the torch, symbolizing camaraderie and sportsmanship.

Serving as Guest of Honor and Speaker, Commodore Zosimo M Bolaños Jr., Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Personnel, AJ1, highlighted the indispensable role of civilian human resources in supporting the AFP’s mission. He emphasized that beyond professional contributions, the Sportsfest strengthens wellness, morale, and the bonds that tie the AFP workforce together.

This year’s weeklong Sportsfest will feature a lineup of friendly competitions, including basketball, volleyball, and other fun games designed to promote physical fitness and esprit de corps among civilian personnel.

The AFP Civilian Human Resource Sportsfest, now an annual tradition, reflects the AFP’s commitment to nurturing its workforce by fostering resilience, unity, and excellence both inside and outside the workplace.
