CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) held a joint ceremony to mark the retirement of Major General Rolando E. Nerona, Deputy Chief of Staff for Financial Management, J10, and the appointment of Brigadier General Francis Anthony M. Coronel as the new J10 chief on August 20 here. The event was presided over by AFP's Deputy Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Charlton Sean M. Gaerlan.
MGen Nerona's distinguished 34-year career in the AFP includes serving as Deputy Chief of the Management and Fiscal Office (MFO) of the Philippine Army before his assignment as J10. He is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) "Bigkis Lahi" Class of 1990.
During the ceremony, LtGen Gaerlan expressed deep appreciation for MGen Nerona's exemplary leadership and service. He also encouraged BGen Coronel to uphold the high standards of efficiency and integrity in AFP’s financial management.
This ceremony underscores the AFP’s commitment to strong leadership and effective management across its operations. The transition signifies a new chapter for the AFP’s financial management team, reinforcing the organization's dedication to excellence and accountability.
