CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through the AFP Peacekeeping Operations Center (AFPPKOC), successfully hosted the 3rd ASEAN Peacekeeping Staff Exercise (APSE) at Camp O’Donnell, Capas, Tarlac, culminating in a comprehensive training program that strengthened regional cooperation among member nations of the ASEAN Peacekeeping Centers Network (APCN).

AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S. Brawner Jr. served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the closing ceremony held today in Tarlac. In his address, he commended the participating countries for their professionalism, collaboration, and steadfast commitment to advancing regional peacekeeping initiatives.

The exercise brought together military personnel from Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam. Throughout the two-week exercise, participants engaged in scenario-based discussions, staff planning workshops, and decision-making simulations which are all tailored to reflect real-world peacekeeping missions under United Nations mandates.

A key moment of the event was the handover ceremony of APSE hosting duties. General Brawner formally handed over the APSE Flag to Colonel Herly Sinaga of Indonesia, symbolizing the continued commitment to cooperation, professionalism, and shared responsibility in peace support operations.

The successful conduct of the 3rd APSE reaffirmed the AFP's dedication to regional solidarity and its active role in promoting global peace through regional partnerships.
