AFP Hosts Australian Defense Attaché’s Farewell, Highlights Value of Joint Exercises

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff (CSAFP) General Romeo S Brawner Jr. welcomed Captain Emma McDonald-Kerr RAN, Defense Attaché of Australia to the Philippines, during her exit courtesy call on December 17, here.

Both leaders underscored the importance of bilateral military activities, including the Exercise Amphibious and Land Operations or commonly known as Exercise ALON, which serves as a key platform for enhancing interoperability, maritime cooperation, and combined training between AFP and Australian Defense Force (ADF) units. General Brawner highlighted that exercises such as ALON reinforce the AFP’s capability development while deepening cooperation with trusted partners.

The meeting strengthened defense cooperation between the AFP and the ADF and reaffirmed the AFP’s commitment to maintaining and expanding its partnership with Australia.
