CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- A new chapter in the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) leadership unfolded as 29 newly promoted generals and flag officers, together with 14 graduates of Foreign Pre-Commissioned Training Institutions (FPCTI), took their oath of office before President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., on October 1 at Malacañang Palace.
Following the ceremony, the officers paid a courtesy call on AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr., at the General Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, marking a significant milestone in their military careers and reaffirming their dedication to national service.
President Marcos, in his address, underscored the responsibility and moral compass that come with military leadership, “The commissioning of 14 new Second Lieutenants and Ensigns from premier foreign military academies signals a fusion of global expertise with Filipino valor.”
“To our newly promoted leaders: More than carrying a new rank, you also carry the weight of our people’s trust. Let every decision you make and every command that you give be anchored in integrity, in discipline, and in duty,” he added.
The oath-taking and promotions symbolize both professional growth and the strengthening of the AFP’s leadership core, ensuring the institution remains future-ready in the face of evolving defense and security challenges.
