CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), through its Accounting Center, has been recognized as one of the 2024 Outstanding Accounting Office Awardees by the Association of Government Accountants of the Philippines (AGAP). This honor was awarded during AGAP’s 75th Founding Anniversary celebration on October 7 at the SMX Convention Center in Davao City, highlighting the AFP’s commitment to transparency and strong financial governance.
The AFP was recognized for its exemplary performance in financial management, having successfully met AGAP’s stringent criteria for Accuracy, Timeliness, Reliability, and Compliance with accounting and budgeting rules and regulations.
This recognition is further bolstered by the Commission on Audit’s (COA) seven consecutive unmodified opinions on the fairness of presentation of the AFP’s consolidated financial statements. The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) likewise commended the AFP for its consistent and timely submission of financial reports, underscoring its unwavering commitment to transparency and fiscal responsibility.
This recognition affirms the AFP’s steadfast efforts to institutionalize reforms that promote accountability and public trust. The AFP continues to set the bar for transparency, upholding its integrity and excellence in public service, as part of its broader mission of building a professional and effective armed force.
