CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Romeo S Brawner Jr., welcomed Most Reverend Charles John Brown D.D., Apostolic Nuncio to the Philippines during his courtesy call on September 22, here.
During the meeting, General Brawner expressed his appreciation for the continued support of the Catholic Church to the AFP’s mission of safeguarding peace and security across the country. Meanwhile, Archbishop Brown commended the AFP for its dedication to service and its unwavering commitment to the Filipino people.
The Apostolic Nuncio’s visit coincides with the Philippines’ hosting of the 60th Annual Conference and General Assembly of the Apostolat Militaire International (AMI) from September 20 to 26, 2025. AMI, founded in 1965, is an international lay organization of Catholic soldiers that seeks to strengthen Christian values within Armed Forces worldwide. The Philippines has been a regular member since 1992, joining 18 full member countries and 19 associated friends in this global initiative.
The courtesy call reinforced shared values of faith, service, and nation-building, reflecting the AFP’s commitment to building strong relationships across sectors of society in pursuit of peace and progress.
