CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- General Romeo S Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), visited the 901st (Fight ‘Em) Infantry Brigade under the 9th Infantry Division at its Headquarters in Barangay Sta. Cruz, Placer, Surigao del Norte on June 19.
During the visit, General Brawner was assisted by BGen Arsenio DC Sadural, 901st Infantry Brigade Commander, underscoring the AFP’s unwavering commitment to internal security and its readiness to shift focus toward external threats.
Highlighting the brigade’s recent achievements, General Brawner lauded their critical role in neutralizing the leader of the New People’s Army (NPA) and, most recently, five NPA remnants in the CARAGA region.
“These accomplishments are not just victories for the AFP—they represent a triumph for the Filipino people,” General Brawner emphasized. “With internal threats significantly reduced, we are now better positioned to concentrate on strengthening our territorial integrity and responding effectively to external security challenges.”
The 901st Infantry Brigade’s relentless operations have been instrumental in sustaining peace and stability in the CARAGA and Eastern Mindanao regions, reflecting the brigade’s competence, capability, and teamwork. General Brawner’s visit also served to boost morale and affirm continued AFP support for frontline units across the country.
