CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr., AFP Chief of Staff, welcomed His Excellency Gilberto Fonseca Guimarães de Moura, Ambassador of Brazil to the Philippines in a courtesy visit on July 9, here, to foster deeper defense relations.
In their meeting, General Brawner emphasized the importance of enhancing defense cooperation with Brazil as outlined in the 2022 Philippines-Brazil Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on Defense Cooperation. Both parties discussed potential areas for defense partnership, including logistics and defense industry collaboration, cybersecurity, information sharing, counterterrorism, and humanitarian assistance.
"The Philippines values its relationship with Brazil, and we look forward to exploring opportunities that will benefit both our nations in defense and security," said General Brawner.
