TDCSAFP Receives Honorary SEAL Badge in a Farewell Ceremony

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City— The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (TDCSAFP), Lieutenant General Charlton Sean M Gaerlan PN(M), was honored with an Honorary SEAL Rites following his Farewell Visit on October 3, 2024, at the Naval Special Operations Command (NAVSOCOM) Headquarters in Sangley Point, Cavite.
LtGen Gaerlan, participated in several exercises traditionally associated with Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL (BUDS) training. These rigorous activities showcased his commitment to maintaining the high standards of the Armed Forces, including warm-up exercises, boat paddling, swimming, a one-mile run, and proficiency drills with a .45 caliber pistol and a sniper rifle.

In his address, LtGen Gaerlan commended the dedication and resilience of NAVSOCOM. “To Naval Special Operations Command, I have seen your hard work and I wish you the best. It is a privilege to receive the Honorary SEAL badge. Maraming salamat sa inyong serbisyo sa bayan.”

As LtGen Gaerlan embarks on his next chapter, his dedication to service and leadership in vision of peace and security for the nation will continue to inspire future generations of military personnel.
