AFP concludes 2023 with resounding victories, sets goals for 2024

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – As 2023 ends, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) looks back on a year marked by notable achievements, reaffirming its commitment to national security and regional peace. These accomplishments pave the way for a dynamic and capable AFP in 2024.
 
The AFP has achieved a significant milestone by dismantling eight and weakening 14 guerilla fronts of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG). As of December, there are no more active CTG guerilla fronts. The continued focused military operations have resulted in the neutralization of 67 high-value individuals who belong to communist and local terrorist groups. Among the top leaders neutralized are Dionisio Macabalo, also known as @Muling/Kardo, who was the Secretary of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee, and Farahudin Pumbaya Pangalian, also known as @Abu Zacharia, who was the Amir of DI-Philippines and overall Amir Islamic State-East Asia.

AFP hosts Year-End 2023 National JPSCC Meeting

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) spearheaded the Year-End 2023 National Joint Peace and Security Coordinating Center (JPSCC) Meeting with the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) on January 30 at the General Headquarters.
 
The National JPSCC Meeting aims to discuss the significant accomplishments and planned activities of the six JPSCC Joint Cells: Joint Operations Cell, Joint Intelligence Cell, Joint Logistics Cell, Joint Civic-Community Relations Cell, Joint Legal and Investigation Cell, and Joint Education and Training Cell.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines congratulates our Commander-in-Chief for a successful launch of the Bagong Pilipinas national effort. In heeding his call for national transformation, the AFP shall be at the vanguard. 

AFP joins Send-Off Ceremony for President Marcos’ Vietnam State Visit

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Vice Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, LtGen Arthur Cordura PAF, joined the Send-Off Ceremony for President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr as he embarks on a two-day State Visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on January 29, 2024, at Colonel Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City. 

Also present during the ceremony were Philippine Air Force Commander, LtGen Stephen Parreño; Philippine Navy Flag-Officer-in-Command, VAdm Toribio Adaci Jr.; Philippine Army Vice Commander, MGen Leodevic Guinid Jr.; and Philippine National Police Chief, General Benjamin Acorda Jr.

On the neutralization of 9 Dawlah Islamiyah- Lanao involved in MSU-Marawi bombing

The Armed Forces of the Philippines commends the exceptional dedication of the 103rd Brigade, 1st Infantry Division, Philippine Army, for their successful counterterrorism operation in Barangay Tapurog, Piagapo, Lanao del Sur, on January 25 and 26, 2024. This operation resulted in the neutralization of 9 members of the Dawlah Islamiyah-Lanao and the capture of 9 high-powered firearms and two (2) Improvised Explosive Device (IED).
