AFP Chief lauds 'Tabak' warriors' victories against communist, local terrorists

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) General Andres Centino commended the troops of the Army's 1st Infantry "Tabak" Division for carrying out successful operations against armed threats in South-Western Mindanao during the unit's 86th founding anniversary celebration in Labangan, Zamboanga del Sur on Wednesday, June 1.

General Centino recognized 1ID's accomplishments which include the neutralization of 615 personalities from communist terrorists and local terrorist groups. Of the 615 neutralized personalities, 60 died in encounters, 358 were apprehended, and 197 surrendered. Moreover, 844 firearms were seized or surrendered, and four communist terrorist's guerrilla fronts were dismantled.

AFP troops seize NPA Firearms in Quezon

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) seized high-powered firearms from the CPP-NPA Terrorist (CNT) in General Nakar, Quezon Province, on Wednesday, June 1.

Members of the Philippine Army's 1st Infantry Battalion (1IB) seized an M16 rifle, hand grenade, anti-personnel mine, and subversive documents after an encounter with about 10 NPAs in Brgy. Magsikap.

Soldiers seize terrorist's firearm, ammunition in Samar

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--Troops of the Philippine Army's 78th Infantry Battalion under the 8th Infantry Division seized an M-16 rifle, three magazines, and 76 rounds of ammunition while conducting combat operations in Barangay Pinanag-an, Borongan City, Eastern Samar on Wednesday, 01 June 2022.

The soldiers discovered the war materials while pursuing the communist terrorist group (CTG) operating in the area. The operating troops also seized one bandolier and one backpack believed to belong to fleeing CTG members.

AFP hosts first face-to-face Little Olympics since pandemic

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – Dependents of uniformed service members and civilian employees join the Armed Forces of the Philippines-Philippine National Police-Philippine Coast Guard (AFP-PNP-PCG) Little Olympics on Tuesday, August 24.

The opening ceremony of the first face-to-face sporting event since the pandemic was held at the Lapu-Lapu Grandstand in Camp Aguinaldo. It was joined by players aged 17 years old and below.

AFP Chief checks on troops in Balabac, Palawan

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) visited one of the country's farthest detachments in Palawan and urged troops to further strengthen its security operations in the area.

General Andres Centino flew to Bugsuk Island in Balabac, Palawan, on Thursday, May 19, as part of his regular troops' visitation, especially in far-flung military bases and detachments.
