CSAFP visits troops in Visayas, relays orders to end armed conflict

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City— The Chief of Staff, AFP General Andres C Centino PA, visited the troops of the Visayas Command (VISCOM) on March 23 as part of his efforts to personally assess the capability and morale of military personnel as they push for the completion of their mission.

He was accompanied by members of his staff, including MGen Gabriel Viray III, the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) for Civil-Military Operations, J7; BGen Fernando Reyeg, the DCS for Operations, J3; BGen Ferdinand Barandon, the Acting DCS for Intelligence, J2; and MCPO Joe Marie Lucero, the Acting AFP Sergeant Major.

CSAFP lauds PH-India defense relations

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City— The Chief of Staff, AFP (CSAFP) General Andres C Centino PA hailed the stronger defense diplomacy relations between the Philippines and India as he addressed the delegates of the Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Day 2023 Reception on March 22 in Taguig City.

ITEC is India's international capacity-building platform that offers training for civilian and military officials from over 160 countries. Administered by India's Ministry of External Affairs, it has so far catered to 200,000 officials in the areas of defense, artificial intelligence, cyber technologies, engineering and technology, agriculture, health, and governance.

AFP, The Inspire Studios seal partnership for "The Rescue" movie

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and The Inspire Studios held a Ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement Signing for the movie project "The Rescue" at the AFP General Headquarters on March 22, 2023.

The Vice Chief of Staff, AFP (VCSAFP), LtGen Arthur M Cordura PAF, and The Inspire Studios CEO and Producer, Mr. Francis B. Lara Ho, led the signing, which marked the beginning of the AFP and The Inspire Studios' formal partnership in the production of the movie.

PHILIPPINE NAVY CHIEF VISITS TROOPS IN WEST PHILIPPINE SEA

West Philippine Sea – The Flag Officer In Command, Philippine Navy (FOIC, PN), Vice Admiral Toribio D Adaci Jr PN, visited the troops at the different island stations in the West Philippine Sea (WPS), on March 19, 2023.
 
Following his visit to Headquarters Naval Forces West (NFW) and the Philippine Marine Corps' 3rd Marine Brigade at Puerto Princesa City on March 17, the FOIC PN also inspected the naval stations located at Macarascas and Ulugan Bay of the same city on March 18. On March 19, Vice Admiral Adaci Jr flew to the Kalayaan Island Group and reached out to the personnel stationed at Pag-asa, Parola, and Likas Islands. He also led the ribbon cutting and blessing of the newly-constructed administrative and research building at Parola and Likas islands. Part of the activities in the island stations are the talk to the troops and hand over of emergency kits and foodstuff.Vice Admiral Adaci Jr was accompanied by the Commander of NFW, Commodore Alan M Javier PN, on his visits to the said island stations.

AFP welcomes UK Ambassador, affirms continued cooperation

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City— The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) affirmed continued security cooperation with the United Kingdom during the courtesy call of UK Ambassador to the Philippines H.E. Laure Beaufils to the Vice Chief of Staff, AFP (VCSAFP) LtGen Arthur Cordura at the AFP General Headquarters on March 21. The meeting is part of the AFP's international defense and security engagements.

During their meeting, Ambassador Beaufils and the VCSAFP discussed issues of mutual concern, including regional stability and international maritime law. They also stressed the importance of continued security and defense cooperation and welcomed possible future security engagements between the Philippines and the UK. They also discussed and supported each other's initiatives to maintain stability and security in the Indo-Pacific region against the backdrop of rules-based order and international law.
