AFP Chief thanks soldiers for highest approval, trust ratings in latest survey

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) thanked the soldiers for the highest approval and trust ratings that the military garnered in the latest Publicus Asia survey.

During his visit to the Philippine Army Headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, General Andres C Centino recognized the troop's contribution to the AFP campaign.

Statement on AFP garners Highest Trust and Approval Rating in 2022 Pahayag First Quarter Survey by Publicus Asia

The Armed Forces of the Philippines welcome the Filipino people's continuous trust and confidence, as shown in the 2022 Pahayag First Quarter Survey by Publicus Asia.

In the survey involving 1,500 respondents, the AFP garnered the highest approval and trust rating among government agencies, with 67.4% and 53.4% ratings, respectively.

The survey result manifests our people's optimism with our unremitting efforts to secure peace and security, paving the way for the country's continuous development.

The men and women of the AFP shall reciprocate this encouraging result with renewed dedication to perform our mandate of protecting the people and securing the state.

AFP installs new Camp Commander

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) welcomed the new Commander of General Headquarters and Headquarters Service Command (GHQ & HSC) on Monday, April 11.

Brigadier General Ferdinand S Razalan assumed the position from the outgoing Commander, Brigadier General George Joel N Lalaquil.

Troops clash with NPAs, firearms seized in Samar

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) troops figured in an intense firefight against communist New People’s Army terrorists (CNTs) in Samar on Sunday, April 10.

A squad from the Philippine Army’s 87th Infantry Battalion, while conducting combat security patrol, encountered more or less four CNTs in Brgy. Can-aponte, San Jose de Buan, Samar.

AFP joins 80th Araw ng Kagitingan Anniversary

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) joined the 80th Araw ng Kagitingan anniversary celebration at Mount Samat National Shrine in Pilar, Bataan today, April 9.

Department of Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra led the wreath-laying ceremony as respect and tribute to World War II heroes who defended the country's freedom. He was joined by His Excellency Koshikawa Kazuhiko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Embassy of Japan; and Ms. Heather Variava, Chargé d'Affaires of the Embassy of the United States. Lieutenant General Ernesto Torres Jr, the Commander of AFP Northern Luzon Command, served as the military host.
