AFP welcomes new Chief ISAFP; DCS for Intelligence, J2

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) held the Change of Chief of Office Ceremony for the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS) for Intelligence, J2, and the Assumption of Command Ceremony of the Chief, Intelligence Service, AFP (ISAFP) on 13 February.

The ceremonies were presided over by The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, VAdm Rommel Anthony SD Reyes PN.

AFP, DND join DOTr and SMMC in Metro Manila Subway Project Groundbreaking Ceremony

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Department of National Defense (DND) joined the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co., Ltd. (SMMC) in the Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo today, February 13.

Quezon City Mayor Ma. Josefina Belmonte welcomed the attendees during the ceremony, including the Chief of Staff, AFP, General Andres Centino PA; OIC, DND UnderSecretary Carlito Galvez, Jr.; Transportation Secretary Jaime Bautista; Quezon City 3rd District Representative Franz Pumaren; SMCC Project Director Hitoshi Yamaji; JICA Chief Representative Sakamoto Takema; and other officials from the Embassy of Japan.

AFP co-hosts a military training course with the Canadian Armed Forces

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines co-hosts a 5-day military operational planning course with the Canadian Armed Forces starting today in Clark, Pampanga.

Thirty-five officers from the AFP and the armed forces of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Mongolia, Malaysia, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam are attending the course.

CSAFP visits Philippine Navy, reiterates thrusts

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The CSAFP, General Andres C Centino PA, visited the Philippine Navy Headquarters in Manila today. He was welcomed by officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian human resources of the Philippine Navy led by the Flag Officer In Command, VAdm Toribio D Adaci Jr.

In his talk to troops, the CSAFP reminded every sailor and marine of his thrusts of operational efficiency, optimal use of resources, professionalism and meritocracy, and capability development.

AFP sends urban search and rescue teams as part of Philippine delegation to Turkey

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--The AFP sends its urban search and rescue (USAR) teams from the Philippine Army's 525th Engineer Combat Battalion, 51st Engineer Brigade and the Philippine Air Force 505th Search and Rescue Group as part of the Philippine delegation to Turkey.

The 33 personnel from the AFP will join USAR units of the MMDA and Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority. In addition, the Office of Civil Defense will send a communications and logistics team, while the Department of Health will dispatch emergency medical personnel to aid the response team of earthquake-stricken Turkey.
