AFP-PNP-PCG Olympics ends, Team Army declared champion

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) closed its annual inter-service sporting event on Tuesday, October 25 at the Lapu-Lapu Grandstand in Camp Aguinaldo with the AFP Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro PA as presiding officer, and Chairman Jose Emmanuel Eala of the Philippine Sports Commission as special guest.

"This event symbolized the solidarity and comradeship among the men and women of our defense, law enforcement, and security sectors. It is vital that the AFP, PNP, and PCG continue to foster robust partnerships to sustain cohesive and concerted efforts in addressing the complexities of our security environment," Lt. Gen. Bacarro said.

Col Musñgi assumes as new JTF-NCR commander

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines installed Colonel Alexei Musñgi as the new commander of Joint Task Force-National Capital Region (JTF-NCR). AFP Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Bartolome Vicente Bacarro presided over the Change of Command Ceremony on Monday, October 24, at the AFP Commissioned Officers Club in Camp Aguinaldo.

Colonel Musñgi previously served as the commander of the 1002nd Infantry Brigade. He was also the Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations, G3, Philippine Army, and commander of the 48th Infantry Battalion.

AFP units deliver aid to typhoon-hit residents in Northern Luzon

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) together with other government agencies joined the local Social Welfare Development Office in distributing relief goods and assisting residents affected by Typhoon Neneng and Tropical Storm Maymay that hit Northern Luzon last week.

A total of 370 DSWD food packs were distributed by the Philippine Army's 77th Infantry Battalion and other government agencies to the typhoon-affected families in Barangay Alba, San Miguel, and Taytay Baggao, Cagayan on October 16, 2022.

We owe it to the valiant and courageous men and women in uniform who fought the Maute terrorist group so that we could still fly freely the Philippine Flag over Marawi City.

No Soldier's Orphan Left Behind: 5,000 graduates, 3,000 grantees assisted by AFPEBS as of 2022

With the new school year kicking off, the AFP Educational Benefit System (AFPEBS) reported an estimated total of 5,000 graduates from S.Y. 2000-2021 and more than 3,000 continuing grantees for 2022, who are mostly dependents of killed-in-action military personnel.

Several AFPEBSO grantees nationwide completed their education and are now pursuing careers in different fields. Some grantees also opted to join military service to follow in the footsteps of their loved ones who gave their lives protecting the peace and stability of the country.
