MGen Sequitin bows out of military service, Col Aguilar takes command of CRSAFP

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The Commander of the Civil Relations Service, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Maj. Gen. Manuel V Sequitin bowed out of service in a Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony at AFP General Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo on Thursday, August 18, after over 37 years of outstanding military service.
 
He was replaced in an acting capacity by Col Medel M Aguilar in the ceremony presided by the Chief of Staff AFP Lt. Gen. Bartolome Vicente O Bacarro.

In their meeting, the CSAFP expressed his appreciation to Lt. Gen. Bilton for Australia’s continued support to the AFP. The two military leaders also discussed further strengthening cooperation on maritime domain awareness capabilities and the possibility of future joint integration training to enhance interoperability between the two armed forces. STRENGTHENING PARTNERSHIP

The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), Lt. Gen. Bartolome Vicente Bacarro, meets with the Commander of the United States Pacific Fleet, Admiral Samuel Paparo, on Thursday, August 18.
 
Admiral Paparo’s visit follows the recently concluded Pacific Partnership 2022 and the Rim of the Pacific exercises. In their meeting, the two military leaders affirmed their desire for greater cooperation, especially in establishing real-time information sharing and collaboration in maritime domain awareness. They also anticipate the successful conduct of marquee activities, including Exercise Sama-Sama between the Philippine Fleet and the US Navy in October, the Exercise Kamandag between the Philippine and US Marine Corps in October, and the Balikatan Exercises next year.

Korea Air Force’s 53rd Air Demonstration Group in Basa Air Base

Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente O Bacarro attended the Aerobatic Show performed by Republic of Korea Air Force’s 53rd Air Demonstration Group in Basa Air Base, Floridablanca, Pampanga on Monday, August 15.

Department of National Defense Office-in-Charge, Senior Undersecretary Jose Faustino Jr was the Guest of Honor during the event which sought to highlight the strong relations between the Philippines and South Korea.

The Demonstration Group also known as the ‘Black Eagles’ utilized eight T-50Bs for their air maneuvers. This is the last leg of their tour before heading back to South Korea. (Photos by A2C Ted Castro PAF/PAOAFP)

AFP joins National IHL Day Commemoration

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) joined various government and non-government agencies in the national commemoration of the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Day on Friday, August 12.
 
The IHL day commemoration ceremony was held at the AFP Commissioned Officers Country in Camp Aguinaldo, with the Department of National Defense (DND) serving as the host. One of the event’s highlights was the opening of a photo exhibit showcasing the importance of IHL and Human Rights.
