AFP seizes NPA firearms in Oriental Mindoro

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) seized two high-powered firearms and other war materiel after an encounter with the communist terrorist New People's Army (NPA) in Oriental Mindoro on Sunday, April 17.

Operating troops from Philippine Army's 76th Infantry Battalion (76IB) acted on a report from concerned civilians that armed men were threatening the residents at their farms when they encountered more or less eight CNTs at Sitio Pitong Gatang, Brgy. Manguyang in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro. The firefight lasted for about ten minutes, after which the enemy scampered in different directions.

AFP intensifies relief operations in Leyte

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has intensified its humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) operations in Leyte following the devastation caused by Typhoon Agaton.

The Visayas Command on Saturday announced that efforts will be sustained to provide needed assistance to alleviate the distress of people experiencing hardship brought about by the recent calamity.

AFP seizes 22 firearms, dismantles NPA Guerilla Front 3

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) seized 22 high-powered firearms from the communist New People's Army terrorists (CNTs) in Agusan del Sur on Monday, April 11.

The 60th Infantry Battalion of the Joint Task Force (JTF) Agila discovered 10 AK 47 rifles, seven M16 rifles, a light machine gun, M14 rifle, M79 grenade launcher, Garand rifle, and M16 rifle in Bagul River, Kasapa II, La Paz, Agusan Del Sur.

Commander of U.S. Pacific Air Forces visits AFP Headquarters

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Commander of the United States Pacific Air Forces (USPACAF) paid a courtesy call to the Acting Vice Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) on Tuesday, April 12.

General Kenneth Wilsbach met with Vice Admiral Rommel Anthony SD Reyes at the Balangiga Hall, General Headquarters Building in Camp Aguinaldo. The two discussed potential areas of security cooperation between the AFP and USPACAF.

AFP Chief thanks soldiers for highest approval, trust ratings in latest survey

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) thanked the soldiers for the highest approval and trust ratings that the military garnered in the latest Publicus Asia survey.

During his visit to the Philippine Army Headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, General Andres C Centino recognized the troop's contribution to the AFP campaign.
