3 terrorist NPAs killed, 1 captured in encounter with AFP in NorMin

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - Three members of the communist NPA terrorists (CNTs) were killed, one captured in an encounter with the soldiers of 58th Infantry battalion under the 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army in Sitio Solana, Barangay Plaridel, Claveria, Misamis Oriental on March 18, at 7:05 a.m.

Soldiers were on combat operation when they encountered more or less seven CNTs believed to be members of Weakened Guerilla Front (WGF Huawei, Sub Regional Command (SRC)1, North Central Mindanao Regional Committee (NCMRC).

39 Local Terrorists surrender to AFP in Maguindanao

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - Thirty-nine members of different local terrorist groups (LTGs) surrendered along with their firearms to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on Friday, March 18.

The 21 identified members of Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF)-Bungos Faction, 12 from the BIFF-Karialan Faction, and six (6) from Dawlah Islamiya-Turaife Group voluntarily submitted themselves at the Headquarters, 6th Infantry Division, Philippine Army (6ID, PA) in Camp Siongco, Awang.

36 Communist Terrorists surrender in Sultan Kudarat

CAMP AGUINALDO, QUEZON CITY – Continuous efforts by the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) prompted 36 NPA members to surrender on March 18, 2022, in Brgy. Tibpuan, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat.

The former rebels voluntarily presented themselves to the members of the 37th Infantry Battalion (37IB) under the 6th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.

AFP welcomes new Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, J2

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) welcomed Major General Romulo A Manuel Jr PA as the new Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, J2 on Wednesday, March 16, 2022.

Major General Manuel replaced Major General Alex Luna during the Change of Chief of Office Ceremony at the General Headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo, Quezon City. He likewise received his second star rank following his assumption as the new J2. Vice Admiral Anthony SD Reyes PN, The Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP, presided over the ceremony.

AFP Statement on Loyalty to the Constitution

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is firm in its resolve to be loyal to the Constitution and the duly constituted authorities.

The 145,000-strong soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines of the AFP stand solid behind the chain-of-command.

It is our responsibility to uphold integrity as we execute our duty to serve the nation.

While the AFP respects the people’s freedom of expression, we do not and will not support extra legal means outside the constitution which we have sworn to protect including the sanctity of the electoral process.

We continuously remind our troops to adhere to the rule of law and always obey the chain of command, whoever is seated as the Commander-in-Chief.

The Armed Forces will remain a professional organization that will not engage in partisan politics and will at all times put the interest of the nation before personal views and opinions.///
