CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – Less than a week before the National and Local Elections, the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) joined government agencies in sending off forces to be deployed for election duties on Wednesday, May 4.

The multi-agency send-off and turnover ceremony was held at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Grandstand in Camp Crame, Quezon City.

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – A member of the communist terrorist New People’s Army (NPA) was killed in an encounter with Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) troops in Palanas, Masbate on Monday, May 2.

Operating troops from the Philippine Army’s 2nd Infantry Battalion encountered the NPA member along with four others at Brgy. San Isidro in Palanas.

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – A communist terrorist New People's Army (NPA) was killed in a firefight with AFP troops in Negros Occidental on Tuesday, May 3.

Responding to the report of concerned citizens on the presence of the armed group in their barangays, operating troops of the Philippine Army's 15th Infantry Battalion under the 3rd Infantry Division encountered about five NPAs in Barangay Gatuslao, Candoni, Negros Occidental.

Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) received $2,304,728.39 worth of equipment grant from the United States government on Monday, May 2.

The various defense equipment arrived at the Haribon Terminal, Clark Air Base in Pampanga via a U.S. KC-10A aircraft. Upon its unloading, Supply Officers from the AFP Major Services inspected the hardware.
