The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Australian Defence Force (ADF), and U.S. Marines carried out preparatory training on August 22, in San Vicente, Palawan, in advance of a combined joint forcible entry operation under Exercise ALON 2025. Preparations focused on planning, coordination, and staging maneuvers to ensure seamless execution of the upcoming amphibious assault.
On August 24, the participating forces successfully executed the forcible entry drill, highlighted by an airfield seizure. The activity demonstrated joint capability to project power from the sea onto land, enhancing interoperability and reinforcing the collective commitment of Philippine, Australian, and U.S. forces to regional security and stability in the Indo-Pacific.

The Philippine Marine Corps with the U.S. Marines conducted an airfield seizure operation during Exercise ALON 2025 at San Vicente, Palawan on August 24. The training highlighted the combined force’s ability to rapidly project power from the sea to secure key objectives ashore, a core element of amphibious operations.
The forcible entry drill is among the major events of Exercise ALON 2025, a bilateral training between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the Australian Defence Force, with support from Marine Rotational Force – Darwin 25.3 and the Royal Canadian Navy. The activity showcased the seamless integration of Philippine and U.S. Marines in executing high-intensity missions, further strengthening interoperability, readiness, and collective resolve to address evolving security challenges in the Indo-Pacific region.

The Philippine Air Force personnel and U.S. Marines from Marine Rotational Force–Darwin (MRF-D) 25.3 conducted a subject matter expert exchange (SMEE) on August 21, in Puerto Princesa, Palawan under Exercise Alon 2025.
The SMEE provided participants with practical insights and hands-on collaboration, reinforcing the importance of knowledge-sharing as a key component of multinational training. As part of Exercise Alon 25, the exchange highlights the AFP’s dedication to honing expertise alongside allied partners, ensuring that joint forces remain adaptive, ready, and united in promoting regional security and stability.
