Allied Forces Execute Joint Firepower Display in Palawan Counter-Landing and Live Fire Exercise

Allied forces from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), United States Marine Corps, and Australian Defence Force showcased their combined strength and operational synergy during a large-scale counter-landing and live fire exercise held on April 28 in Kampung Ulay, Rizal, Palawan, as part of Exercise Balikatan 40-2025.

The exercise opened with a maritime interdiction scenario, in which Philippine Navy assets—including Multi-Purpose Attack Crafts (MPACs) and Fast Attack Interdiction Craft (FAIC)—swiftly engaged and neutralized a simulated seaborne intrusion. The operation demonstrated seamless coordination between naval and ground forces and transitioned into an integrated coastal live fire mission.

The Joint Task Unit-Pag-asa composed of Philippine Navy, Philippine Coast Guard and PNP-Maritime Group personnel conducted an inter-agency maritime operation at Pag-asa Cays 1, 2, 3 and 4, and raised the Philippine flag on April 27, 2025 in the West Philippine Sea.

As part of the Multilateral Maritime Event under Exercise Balikatan, participating forces successfully conducted a Casualty Evacuation (CASEVAC) drill at sea on April 28. Through realistic scenarios, participants honed their ability to manage critical incidents and save lives, emphasizing the crucial role of integrated maritime responses during crises.

By building trust and improving joint proficiency in CASEVAC procedures, Balikatan reinforces the collective commitment to security and humanitarian assistance across the region.

AFP, U.S. Forces Boost Combined Air Defense Capabilities Through Integrated Training at Balikatan 40-2025

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the United States Armed Forces conducted an Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD) training on April 27, 2025, at the Naval Education, Training and Doctrine Command (NETDC) in Zambales, as part of Exercise Balikatan 40-2025.
