The Philippine Air Force (PAF) showcased its Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR) prowess during Exercise Balikatan 40-2025 off Iba, Zambales, from April 28-30. The 505th Search and Rescue Group (SRG), alongside U.S. counterparts, executed realistic CSAR missions, simulating downed aircrew recovery in hostile maritime conditions.
Joint Task Force-West (JTFW) Surface, Ground, and Air Components carried out an Amphibious Landing Rehearsal in the vicinity of Brooke’s Point, Palawan on 02 May 2025. This activity was executed in preparation for the upcoming Amphibious Assault scheduled at Malaking Ilog, Balabac, Palawan on 04 May 2025, under Exercise Balikatan 40-2025.
Philippine and U.S. forces bolstered their airfield recovery and explosive hazard response capabilities during an Airfield Damage Repair (ADR) and Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE) held on April 21 at Camp Cadre in Poblacion, Medellin, Cebu, as part of Exercise Balikatan 40-2025.
In a continued demonstration of humanitarian cooperation under Exercise Balikatan 40-2025, personnel from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the United States Armed Forces conducted a Community Health Engagement (CHE) on May 4 in Barangay Dugui San Isidro, Virac, Catanduanes.
Over a hundred personnel from Philippine and U.S. Army forces successfully completed a demanding Jungle Operations Training Course (JOTC) held on April 30, 2025, at Zagala Field, 7ID, and at the Pahingahan Complex within Fort Magsaysay Military Reservation.
