CSAFP wants vigilance against radicalization in cyberspace

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, called for vigilance in cyberspace to protect the youth against radicalization as he led the oath-taking ceremony in connection with the International Humanitarian Law (IHL) Month on August 7, at the AFP General Headquarters here.

He also referenced Republic Act 11188 or the Special Protection of Children in Situations of Armed Conflict in calling for enhanced capabilities and operations in cyberspace.

Brawner Reiterates UNITY to Defenders of Southern Luzon

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, reiterated his priorities as AFP chief to the men and women of the Southern Luzon Command that is celebrating its 36th Founding Anniversary on August 8.

These objectives, assigned the mnemonic UNITY, covers several key points and strategies for the AFP related to Unification, Normalization, Internal Security Operations (ISO), Territorial Defense Operations (TDO), and Youth Development.

“Allow me to reiterate my priority thrusts to the team SOLCOM and deliver the principles of UNITY as we continue to enhance our troops’ warfighting proficiencies and embody a strong, reliable, and highly responsive Armed Forces,” General Brawner Jr said.

Military Educators aspire all members as Doctorate Degree holders

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Dean of the Corps of Professors of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the AFP’s military educators, is aiming to have all of its ranks to become doctorate degree holders by 2028.

BGen Stephen V Agtoto PROF, Dean, Corps of Professors, expressing their strong commitment to creating a culture of academic excellence, said that while everyone are masteral degree holders, only 60% of the Corps have finished doctoral programs and is aiming that everyone will have a doctorate degree by 2028. 

Soldiers, Airman named as Metrobank Outstanding Filipinos 2023

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – As public servants contributing to nation-building, two soldiers and an airman from the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) were announced as the awardees of the 2023 Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos (MFOF) in a Press Conference conducted on August 3 in Taguig City. 

The AFP awardees, together with those from the Philippine National Police and the education sector,  are SSg Danilo S Banquiao PA from the 103rd Brigade, 1ID, Philippine Army who was named as Lanao Del Sur’s Peace and Youth Empowerment Sentinel; LTC Joseph J Bitancur PAF, Assistant Commandant, Basic Military School, Air Education, Training and Doctrine Command, Philippine Air Force dubbed as Model Mentor on Military Training; and Col. Joseph Jeremias Cirilo C Dator PA, Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations (G3), Presidential Security Group, who served as an Innovator of Military Intelligence.
