AFP installs new public affairs chief

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) formally installed Col Xerxes Trinidad as the new chief of the Public Affairs Office AFP (PAOAFP) on October 27 at the General Headquarters here.

Col Trinidad replaced LtCol Enrico Gil Ileto, who moved on to pursue full time his Master’s in National Security Administration, in the ceremony presided by LtGen Charlton Sean Gaerlan, The Deputy Chief of Staff AFP.

Former PSG commander assumes command of CRSAFP

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) formally installed BGen Ramon Zagala as the commander of the Civil Relations Service AFP (CRSAFP) in a change of command ceremony on October 26 here. 

He replaced BGen Arvin Lagamon who assumed as the new Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, J7, on October 24.

CSAFP welcomes APCSS director

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, welcomed Rear Admiral Peter Gumataotao (Ret), Director of the Daniel K. Inouye Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS) during the latter’s courtesy visit on October 26 at the AFP General Headquarters here.

In their meeting, the two discussed training and education opportunities in the APCSS and exchanged perspectives on present and emerging security issues and threats and how to address them.

AFP, AFPSLAI break ground for Modular Transient Facility

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines and VAdm Gaudencio Collado Jr (Ret), Chief Executive Officer and President of the Armed Forces and Police Savings and Loans Association, Inc. (AFPSLAI), led the groundbreaking ceremony and signing of the memorandum of agreement for the modular transient facility project on October 25 here.

The project, consisting of one cluster of living spaces, is part of AFPSLAI’s corporate social responsibility program and seeks to provide quality temporary accommodation to AFP personnel visiting Camp Aguinaldo.

AFP installs new chiefs to CMO, strategy offices

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--The Armed Forces of the Philippines installed new officers to lead the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Office, OJ7, and the Office for Strategic Studies and Strategy Management (OSSSM) in a ceremony at the AFP General Headquarters on October 24.

BGen Arvin Lagamon formally assumed as the new J7 following his stint as the Commander of the Civil Relations Service AFP. He replaced MGen Gabriel Viray III.
