AFP Chief inspects Naval Warships in Subic

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – General Andres C Centino PA, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), visited three of the five naval ships docked in Subic, Zambales on Saturday, July 1 to inspect its modern warfare capabilities. 

The Chief of Staff boarded BRP Antonio Luna (FF-151), the Philippine Navy’s missile frigate which recently gained anti-submarine warfare capability through the arrival of the AW159 ASW "Wildcat" helicopter.

CSAFP lauds Marines in territorial defense roles

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--General Andres Centino, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), in his visit on June 30 to the northernmost military camps and detachments in North Luzon lauded the personnel of the 4th Marine Brigade (MBde) for its role in territorial defense.

The 4th MBde provides personnel to the different naval and marine detachments including the ones in Itbayat, Mavulis, Fuga, and Calayan islands tasked with maintaining territorial integrity and conducting peace and security operations, and assisting in humanitarian assistance and disaster response.

CSAFP visits troops in country’s northernmost frontier, assures support

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--In his ongoing philosophy of leading at the front, General Andres Centino, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, visited troops stationed in Batanes on June 29. 

The first area he visited was the Fishermen's Shelter in Mavulis Island, the country's northernmost island where a naval detachment is also located. There he led a flag-raising ceremony at a sovereignty marker.

AFP, French Armed Forces aim to strengthen military relations

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – Envisioning a stronger partnership between two nations, The Inspector General (TIG), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), LtGen William N Gonzales PA welcomed the Joint Commander in the Asia-Pacific Zone of the French Armed Forces in French Polynesia, RAdm Geoffroy D' Andigné during his visit to the General Headquarters today, June 29. 

With France and the Philippines’ shared military cooperation, logistics operations, training, and education, both military leaders expressed that they look forward to further cooperation between the two nations’ Armed Forces.

AFPCyG @ 5: A Game-Changer in AFP’s Mission Accomplishment

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City — Geared towards being a game-changer in the AFP's capabilities, the Armed Forces of the Philippines Cyber Group (AFPCyG) celebrated its 5th Founding Anniversary today, June 26 at the AFP Headquarters. 

The Vice Chief of Staff, AFP (VCSAFP), LtGen Arthur M Cordura PAF served as the Guest of Honor and Speaker during the anniversary celebration and said, “Cyber is the heart of our C4ISTAR [Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Targeting Acquisition and Reconnaissance]. It is a game changer. The application of cyber fundamentally changes the nature of war thereby inevitably shifting the paradigm on how we operate in a continuum of peace, conflict, crisis, and war."
