PMA alumni, dependents bond in annual sports fest

 
CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - Military Officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and their dependents gathered in the annual Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Cavaliers’ Family Sports Fest held at the Lapu-Lapu Grandstand on Saturday, November 26.
 
Organized by the PMA Alumni Association Inc., the event sought to promote camaraderie among PMA graduates and their families through a day of fun games and activities. It is also an opportunity for the alumni to unwind from work and dedicate a day with their dependents and colleagues.

Top communist terrorist, 20 others neutralized in Northern Samar

 

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—A series of military operations in Northern Samar that began in October this year resulted in the neutralization of a top communist terrorist of Eastern Visayas and 20 other members of the communist terrorist group (CTG).

The operation on November 23 at Barangay Imelda in the town of Las Navas resulted in the death of Helenita Pardales, known as the leader of the Eastern Visayas Regional Party Committee (EVRPC) of the CPP-NPA-NDF.

AFP welcomes new Vice Chief of Staff

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The AFP welcomed its new Vice Chief of Staff (VCSAFP) on Wednesday, November 23, with the assumption of MGen Arthur M Cordura in the Change of Chief of Office ceremony at the Tejeros Hall, AFP Commissioned Officers Club here.

MGen Cordura replaced VAdm Rommel Anthony Reyes, The Deputy Chief of Staff AFP, who has been performing as acting VCSAFP since the retirement of LtGen Erickson Gloria in September.

AFP hosts 4th Asean Military Medicine Conference

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The AFP is hosting the fourth iteration of the ASEAN Military Medicine Conference (AMMC) on November 22 to 23 at the Crowne Plaza Manila with delegates from 14 countries across the world.

The AMMC is part of the Military Medicine Area of Cooperation under the ASEAN Defense Minister’s Meeting-Plus platform. This year’s conference adopts the theme, “Challenges, Breakthroughs, and Regional Cooperation,” and hopes to build on years of collaboration in strengthening the capabilities of military medical services.
