AFP seals collaboration with World Surgical Foundation PH

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines conducted a Memorandum of Agreement Signing with the World Surgical Foundation Philippines (WSFP), Inc. at the General Headquarters on May 22, 2023.
 
The WSFP is a charitable foundation conducting surgical outreach activities in the Philippines to indigent patients in need of affordable and quality services. The Memorandum of Agreement Signing marks the formal collaboration of the AFP and the WSFP to provide quality surgical healthcare to marginalized Filipinos by delivering free professional medical and surgical services.

The Armed Forces of the Philippines welcomes General Daniel Hokanson, Chief of the US National Guard Bureau, during his courtesy visit at the AFP General Headquarters on May 20. He was met by MGen Joel Alejandro Nacnac, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs, J9, and other senior officers of the GHQ.
In their meeting, the two affirmed the PH-US's commitment to strengthen their partnership, especially in advancing a free and open Indo-Pacific region and a rules-based international order.
 
The two officers also discussed possible future engagements in reserve force development, best practice sharing, training, and high-level subject matter exchanges. They also shared perspectives on the utilization of the US National Guard and the role of reservists in law enforcement and humanitarian assistance and disaster response. TROOPS VISIT | 702nd Brigade

 
The Chief of Staff, AFP (CSAFP) General Andres C Centino PA, visited the troops of the 702nd Brigade, 7th Infantry Division, Philippine Army at Camp Lt. Tito B Abat, Brgy Calaoacan, Manaoag, Pangasinan on May 19. In his talk to the troops, the CSAFP commended them for reducing the internal security threats in the area, which is a manifestation of the accomplishment of the AFP’s campaign to end the insurgency.
 
The CSAFP also inspected the facilities of the Wallace Air Station in San Fernando, La Union, under the 580th Aircraft Control and Warning Wing of the Philippine Air Force. The CSAFP emphasized to the troops the importance of resources for defense preparedness. Likewise, he reminded them to maintain discipline and professionalism in performing their duties. WESTERN FRONTIER

AFP Chief of Staff, General Andres C Centino PA, joins Senator Jose "Jinggoy" Estrada Jr in visiting Pag-asa Island, Kalayaan municipality on May 18 as part of his survey of ongoing military projects in the Western Command joint area of operations. They were accompanied by LtGen Stephen Parreño, Commanding General of the Philippine Air Force, and Commodore Alan Javier, Commander of the Naval Forces West. The delegation also boarded the Philippine Navy vessel BRP MANGYAN deployed for maritime operations in the area.

TROOPS VISIT | WESCOM

As part of his important role as the Chief of Staff, AFP (CSAFP), General Andres C Centino PA visited units under the Western Command (WESCOM) to check on the condition and morale of the troops in Palawan on May 17.

The CSAFP visited AFP troops at the Naval Station Narciso Del Rosario in Balabac; Headquarters Tactical Operations Wing West, Antonio Bautista Air Base; Headquarters Naval Forces West, Naval Station Carlito Cunanan in Puerto Princesa City; and Headquarters Western Command at Camp General Artemio G Ricarte where he was welcomed by WESCOM's Deputy Commander, BGen Amado V Dela Paz PAF.
