AFP bares gains against communist, local terrorist groups for the month of May

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) continue to weaken the communist and local threat groups as 27 terrorists died, 125 surrendered, and 11 were apprehended in military operations in the month of May. 

Against the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG), notable accomplishments were the successful focused military operations conducted by the 62nd Infantry Battalion in Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental and Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental on May 20 to 21, that resulted in the death of ten (10) communist terrorists and capture of 14 high-powered firearms, various ammunition, explosives, and other war materiel. 

AFP holds 23rd Multi-Sector Governance Council Meeting

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines Multi-Sector Governance Council (AFP MSGC) conducted its 23rd Regular Meeting on May 30 at the AFP Headquarters.
 
The AFP MSGC Chairperson, Mr. Francisco F. Del Rosario, Jr. represented by Mr. Rex Drilon II, and the Chief of Staff, AFP (CSAFP) General Andres C Centino PA, presided over the meeting. In attendance were regular MSGC members; the Vice Chief of Staff, AFP (VCSAFP), LtGen Arthur M Cordura PAF; the Deputy Chief of Staff, AFP (TDCSAFP), LtGen Charlton Sean M Gaerlan PN(M); the AFP Joint Staff, and selected Personal and Special Staff.

Philippines, Indonesian Armed Forces conclude Training Activity in Bulacan

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines and Indonesian National Armed Forces officially closed the 15th iteration of Training Activity Dolphine XV-23 on Monday, May 29 at the First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR) headquarters in Camp Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan.
 
Brigadier General Freddie T Dela Cruz, Regiment Commander of FSRR, presided over the closing ceremony that underscored the successful attainment of the exercise goals. He also led the presentation of certificates to the participants and a token of gratitude to the TNI-AD.

21 Terrorists Surrender to Gov’t Troops in 5 Days

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—Various ground units of the AFP reported the surrender of twelve members of the communist terrorist group and nine members of a local terrorist group with 23 firearms and several other war materials in five days.

On May 21, a certain Darwin Requina surrendered to the 66th Infantry Battalion in Davao Oriental with four firearms and four anti-personnel mines (APM), while a certain Pina Ahim Asil surrendered with one firearm to the 12th Special Forces Battalion in South Cotabato.

AFP Chief visits troops in Negros, lauds accomplishments

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), General Andres C Centino PA visited the troops of the 94th Infantry Battalion and 62nd Infantry Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division of the Philippine Army in Negros Oriental and Negros Occidental on May 25.
 
The CSAFP first visited the Philippine Army’s 94th Infantry Battalion in Ayungon, Negros Oriental, and later proceeded to the Headquarters of the 62nd Infantry Battalion in Isabela, Negros Occidental where he recognized the troops’ accomplishments and good performance.
