Philippine, Australian Armies kick off Exercise Carabaroo 2023 in Australia

The Philippine Army (PA) and Australian Army started Exercise Carabaroo 2023 at the 1st Combat Engineer Regiment (CER) Headquarters, Robertson Barracks, Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia on August 26, 2023.

The bilateral exercise will be conducted across Gunn Point, Darwin City, Robertson Barracks, Melville Island, Tiwi Islands, and Channel Island. It aims at enhancing and increasing survivability, lethality, command, and control within the urban environment while enhancing the interoperability of multinational combined arms teams. 

PH-Aus forces conduct Combined Amphibious Assault exercise in Zambales

SAN ANTONIO, Zambales - The Philippines-Australia (PH-Aus) Exercise Alon conducted a Combined Amphibious Assault exercise at the Naval Station Leovigildo Gantioqui on August 25, 2023.

This exercise marks the second and final phase of amphibious action after the air assault exercise in Palawan earlier this week.

NEW SERGEANT MAJOR | FCMS Feliciano Lazo

General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, presided over the Change of Chief of Office that installed FCMS Feliciano Lazo as the new AFP Sergeant Major on August 22 at the AFP General Headquarters.
 
FCMS Lazo, who was promoted from the rank of Chief Master Sergeant during the ceremony, replaced MCPO Joe Marie Lucero who held the post in an acting capacity. FCMS Lazo comes fresh from his stint as the Command Sergeant Major of Western Mindanao Command.
 
The AFP Sergeant Major is among the Personal Staff of the CSAFP, providing advice on matters concerning the enlisted personnel and non-commissioned officers of the military, including aspects of morale and discipline.

PH-AUS EXERCISE ALON | Static Display

The Armed Forces of the Philippines and Australian Defence Forces conducted a captivating static display of military assets as part of the ongoing Exercise Alon in Antonio Bautista Naval Base, Palawan.
 
The activity was attended by distinguished guests including Australian Ambassador to the Philippines Her Excellency, HK Yu, PSM; Chief of Joint Operations Lieutenant General Greg Bilton, AO,CSC; and Commander, WESCOM Vice Admiral Alberto Carlos.
 
Exercise Alon, is a bilateral amphibious training activity which includes air, maritime amphibious and follow-on land operations exercises. It aims to improve both countries’ ability to work seamlessly together, enhancing interoperability and preparedness to effectively address mutual security challenges.

AFP STATEMENT | On the RoRe Mission in Ayungin

The Filipinos have a reason to celebrate today. Our rotation and reprovisioning (RORE) mission was successfully conducted and the resupply boats and the PCG vessels escorting them are on their way back to their station in Palawan. Let us all pray for their safe voyage back.

The AFP leadership commends its courageous and dedicated personnel aboard the two resupply boats who executed the operation with precision. General Romeo S Brawner Jr, the Chief of Staff, AFP expresses his deep appreciation to the assistance provided by the Philippine Coast Guard to secure the two resupply boats. He also recognizes the great efforts spearheaded by the Western Command, AFP for the proper planning, coordination and execution of the RORE mission.
