Arrival Honors for Newly Promoted Generals and Flag Officers

The Armed Forces of the Philippines renders military honors to the 40 newly promoted generals and flag officers at the AFP General Headquarters on June 20. Said officers were sworn to their respective duties by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr on June 19 in the Malacañan Palace, a rite signifying the supremacy of civilian authority over the military as enshrined in the Constitution.

The ceremony was witnessed by the Executive Secretary, Secretary Lucas Bersamin; National Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro; the Special Assistant to the President, Secretary Anton Lagdameo; the Presidential Communications Office Secretary Cheloy Garafil; Presidential Adviser on Military and Police Affairs Secretary Roman Felix; AFP Chief of Staff General Andres Centino; and Major Service commanders. Arrival Honors for National Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro Jr

General Andres Centino, the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, leads the military in rendering arrival honors to Secretary of National Defense Gilbert "Gibo" Teodoro Jr in his first official visit to the AFP General Headquarters on June 19. He was welcomed by senior officers of the Joint, Personal, and Special Staff as well as enlisted and civilian personnel of Camp Aguinaldo.

AFP supports stronger defense cooperation with Japan

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City— The Armed Forces of the Philippines affirmed its support for stronger defense cooperation with Japan during the courtesy visit of Tsuchimoto Hideki, Commissioner of the Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics Agency (ATLA) of Japan on June 19 at the AFP General Headquarters here.

General Andres Centino, the Chief of Staff AFP (CSAFP), welcomed and expressed his grateful appreciation to the Japanese official for their assistance in the AFP modernization and capability upgrade program.

The death of Faharudin Hadji Benito Satar, a.k.a. Abu Zacharia, the so-called emir of Daesh in Southeast Asia, and Joharie Sandab, a.k.a. Morsid, DI-Philippines Sub-Leader for Finance and Logistics, in armed skirmishes today in Barangay Bangon, Marawi City has further weakened the capability of the local terrorist group to mount hostile and destructive acts. Zacharia and Morsid are facing various criminal cases in courts of law. The trust and support of our people, which resulted to successful joint law enforcement operations, motivates us to be relentless and aggressive in our counter-terrorism efforts to establish secured and peaceful communities.///

AFP joins Nationwide Bloodletting Activity

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), in partnership with the Junior Chamber International – Manila (JCI-Manila), GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc. (GMAKFI), and Philippine Red Cross (PRC) conducted a nationwide bloodletting activity in celebration of the World Blood Donor Day on June 14 at the AFP Headquarters.
 
The said activity also took place in venues nationwide with 20 sites in the National Capital Region (NCR), SM City Iloilo in Visayas, and in Davao Medical School Foundation Hospital and Lim Ket Kai Mall/Centrio Ayala in Mindanao.
