AFP transports, secures 5th Philippine visit of St. Therese relics

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is providing land, sea and air transportation support as well as manpower to ensure the safe and successful tour of the relics of St. Therese of the Child Jesus across the country.

The relic of the Little Flower of Jesus arrived in Pasay City from Lisieux, France on Monday, January 2 which coincided with her 150th birth anniversary. It also marked the 5th Philippine visit of the pilgrim relic which will make the rounds of various dioceses and selected military chaplaincies until April 30.

AFP joins 126th Rizal Day Commemoration

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City - The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) led by its Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Bartolome Vicente Bacarro participated in the commemoration of the 126th anniversary of the martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal on Friday, December 30 at the Rizal National Monument in Manila.
 
This year’s celebration was anchored on the theme “Rizal: Alaalang Iningatan, Yaman Ngayon ng Bayan''. It was highlighted by the traditional flag raising and wreath laying ceremonies in Rizal Park led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr as guest of honor and speaker.

Strategic losses mark communist group’s anniversary

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The communist terrorist group suffered significant strategic losses ahead of its anniversary on December 26, as it lost a great number of its guerilla units, leaders, and members.


In 2022, the CTG was reduced to 2,112 members with 1,876 firearms as a result of the AFP’s campaign and the whole-of-nation program being implemented by the NTF-ELCAC. Likewise, their guerilla fronts were reduced to 22 from 89 six years ago. Seventeen of these were already classified as weakened while the remaining five (5) guerilla fronts are now the focus of relentless focused military operations and synergized efforts employing the whole-of-nation approach.
