RORE MISSION

The rotation and reprovisioning of troops conducted by the Armed Forces of the Philippines and its Western Command for troops stationed at BRP Sierra Madre (LS57) in Ayungin Shoal today, March 5. While in the mission, the two civilian vessels (Unaizah May 1 and 4) and their Philippine Navy and Philippine Coast Guard escorts were harassed, blocked, and blasted with water cannon by Chinese coast guard vessels.

Said dangerous maneuvers at sea that put the lives of Filipino personnel at risk were properly documented, adding to a long list of incidents of  Chinese coast guard and maritime militia's illegal and irresponsible actions within our exclusive economic zone.

AFP joins National Women’s Month Celebration 2024

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines joined the National Women’s Month Celebration 2024 with a simultaneous flag-raising and kick-off ceremony on March 4 at the General Headquarters here. 

A series of activities was prepared in line with this year’s theme, “Lipunang Patas sa Bagong Pilipinas: Kakayahan ng Kababaihan, Patutunayan.” An exhibit dubbed as, “HERStory of Women, Peace, and Security in the AFP” was also launched that will showcase milestones in women empowerment and gender equality programs in the military.

AFP welcomes new SOLCOM commander

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--The Armed Forces of the Philippines welcomed MGen Facundo Palafox IV as he takes the helm of the Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM) in a change of command ceremony on March 2 in SOLCOM's headquarters in Lucena City, Quezon.
The ceremony, presided by AFP Chief of Staff General Romeo Brawner Jr, also rendered honors to the outgoing commander, LtGen Efren Baluyot, who bowed out of service after over 39 years as a military officer and cadet.

The Public Affairs Office of the Armed Forces of the Philippines is looking for three qualified individuals to fill-up the following vacant permanent positions:
 
1. Administrative Officer II (Information Officer I)
a. Item No: AFP-GHQC-ADOFII-149-2013
b. Education: Bachelor’s Degree
c. Training: None required
d. Experience: None required
e. Responsibilities:
-Assist in planning, developing, and crafting of public information materials, external and internal messages, and other public affairs collaterals, especially audio-visual presentations and promotional videos;
-Conceptualize, propose, and manage the creation of engaging contents for AFP social media platforms;
-Prepare storyboards, scripts, and interview points for promotional content;
-Assist in the management of AFP social media platforms;
-Assist in the execution of information and public relations activities like press conferences, in-office and studio interviews, and other media engagements.
 
2. Administrative Officer II (Information Officer I)
a. Item No: AFP-GHQC-ADOFII-148-2013
b. Education: Bachelor’s Degree
c. Training: None required
d. Experience: None required
e. Responsibilities:
-Assist in planning, developing, and crafting public information materials, external and internal messaging, and other public affairs collaterals;
-Handle administrative requests, prepare communications, and organize and schedule appointments;
-Set up meetings, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, and take detailed minutes of meetings;
-Assist in the execution of information and public relations activities like press conferences, in-office and studio interviews, and other media engagements.
 
3. Administrative Assistant II
a. Item No: AFP-GHQC-ADAS2-147-2013
b. Education: Completion of two years studies in College or High School
Graduate with relevant vocational/trade course
c. Training: Four (4) hours of relevant training
d. Experience: One (1) year of relevant experience
e. Responsibilities:
-Assist in the preparation and processing of cash disbursement, purchase orders, and cash advance and liquidation;
-Assist in the preparation of financial reports and records and maintenance of manual books of accounts;
-Monitor contracts and obligations and ensure timely payment of subscriptions;
-Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, including filing and archiving of documents;
-Assist in the overall execution of Office activities like press conferences, in-office and studio interviews, and other media engagements.

AFP among Metrobank Foundation's PEACE awardees

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--The Armed Forces of the Philippines was bestowed the 4th Metrobank Foundation Award for Partner in Empowerment, Advocacy, and Commitment to Excellence (PEACE) during the 45th founding anniversary of Metrobank Foundation Inc., (MBFI) on February 29 in Taguig City.
