Featured talents honor soldiers in a one-night concert

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—Performing artists gathered in the Konsyerto sa Palasyo (KSP) on April 22 for a one-night performance in recognition of the Armed Forces of the Philippines' role in peace and security.
 
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr initiated the concert, which was also attended by First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, Vice President Sara Duterte, former president and current Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, OIC-DND, Senior USec Carlito Galvez and other government officials.

BRP Tarlac (LD601), one of the Philippine Navy’s largest ships, participates in the largest Balikatan Exercise to date.
 
The exercise comprises numerous events involving ships, conducted with US counterparts such as Communications Exercise (COMMEX), Joint Amphibious Raid Exercise, Replenishment at Sea Approaches (RASAP), Search and Rescue Exercise (SAREX), Division Tactics Exercise (DIVTACS), and Deck Landing Qualification/Proficiency (DLQ).///

Philippine Army, U.S. Army combat engineers conduct Combat Engineer Simulation Exercise

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - Philippine Army and U.S. Army combat engineers trained together in the Combat Engineer Simulation Exercise which is part of the series of Balikatan Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEEs) at the 1st Brigade Combat Team Demo Range, Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija on April 21, 2023.
 
Combat engineers from both armies fired a Bangalore torpedo in the first phase and the Anti-Personnel Obstacle Breaching System (APOBS) in the second phase. A Bangalore torpedo, an explosive charge placed within one or several connected tubes, is used by combat engineers to clear obstacles that would otherwise require them to approach the target directly.
