Peace as every citizen’s responsibility: AFP holds Peace Symposium 2023

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – In commemoration of the 2023 National Peace Consciousness Month, a Peace Symposium was facilitated by the Armed Forces of the Philippines Peace and Development Office (AFPPDO) on September 28.

“We gather here to explore the intricate nature of peacebuilding in a rapidly changing world. Let us embrace this opportunity to further enhance our knowledge, strengthen our partnerships, and reaffirm our commitment to a more peaceful and secure world. The gains of peace are often very fragile, and consolidating these gains remains to be our key responsibility,” said the Guest of Honor and Speaker, Office of the Special Assistant to the President, Secretary Antonio Ernesto Lagdameo Jr., in a message delivered by Asst. Secretary Ria Danielle Lumapas.

Philippine Navy hosts Exercise SAMASAMA

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Philippine Navy is set to host this year’s iteration of the PH-US Exercise SAMASAMA that is scheduled from 02 to 13 October 2023 at the Naval Forces Southern Luzon (NFSL) Area of Operations. 

SAMASAMA is a bilateral exercise between the United States Navy (USN) and the Philippine Navy (PN) that aims to further strengthen international defense cooperation and advance a rules-based international order.

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – Navy personnel were reminded by the Armed Forces Chief today to fight for the nation’s sovereign rights and territory during his visit at the Navy Headquarters this morning. 

“Let us always bear in mind our own interests. We are Filipinos, and we will fight for the Philippines’ rights, our sovereign rights, and our territorial integrity,” General Romeo S Brawner Jr, the Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff said.

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, lauded the Philippine Air Force for its dedication towards serving the country as he thanked its pilots and crew who have supported ground troops in its operations over the years.

The CSAFP gave this message to the officers, enlisted personnel, and civilian employees in Villamor Air Base during his visit and talk to troops on September 25.

Tourists flock to 6ID’s ‘Symbol of Peace’

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Symbol of Peace inaugurated on Thursday, September 21, is now attracting tourists and raising awareness on the government’s whole-of-nation efforts to end all armed conflict.

The monument is an eighteen-foot replica of an M-16 crafted from dismantled firearms that were confiscated, captured, recovered or were surrendered to the military as part of its efforts to end violence and proliferation of illegal firearms in the Bangsamoro region.
