CSAFP MEETS WITH MULTI-SECTORAL ADVISORY BOARD

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), sat in an introductory meeting with the AFP Multi-Sectoral Governance Council (MSGC), the military’s security sector reform partner, on December 12 at the General Headquarters here.

Composed of representatives from various sector of society, the MSGC provides expert advice and recommendations in the AFP’s policies, plans, and programs as well as to champion the AFP Transformation Roadmap and help improve transparency and accountability. It’s chaired currently by Mr Francisco Del Rosario Jr of the Institute for Solidarity in Asia.

“On behalf of the AFP, I want to thank the MSGC. We appreciate the time and effort that you are spending and your willingness to held the AFP. In return, the AFP commits to our pursuit of good governance, transparency, and accountability,” General Brawner Jr said in his closing message.

GENERAL BRAWNER JOINS AYUNGIN RESUPPLY MISSION, CONVEYS PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City -- The Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), General Romeo S Brawner Jr, visited BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal on Sunday, December 10, 2023, to personally convey President Ferdinand R Marcos Jr’s appreciation and yuletide greetings to our troops stationed aboard the vessel.

General Brawner is the first sitting AFP Chief of Staff to have set foot on the ship. During their journey, he experienced firsthand the risks faced by the regular resupply missions as the China Coast Guard and its maritime militia continue their attempts to obstruct said missions.

Gov't forces capture MSU bombing suspect

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--Combined troops of Task Force Marawi and Marawi City police captured on December 6 a certain Jafar Gamo Sultan, a.k.a. Jaf/Kurot, who is one of the accomplices in the bombing at Mindanao State University last week.
The suspect, who was apprehended in an operation in Brgy Dulay Proper in Marawi, is companion of a certain Omar, the person identified by witnesses to have placed the improvised explosive device at the Dimaporo Gymnasium. Also seized by troops are two motorcyles.

This development shows the seriousness of the government in capturing the perpetrators of the terrorist attack on innocent civilians and in ensuring that similar incidents will not happen again. It also demonstrates the AFP's commitment to its mandate as protector of the people and the state.

CSAFP VISITS MILITARY PATIENTS, LEADS AFP MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM ADVOCACY LAUNCHING

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines (CSAFP), General Romeo S Brawner Jr PA, visited military patients and led the launching of the AFP Mental Health Program Advocacy on December 06 at the Victoriano Luna Medical Center (VLMC).

The CSAFP’s visit aims to personally check on and boost the morale of patients admitted at the VLMC and to officially launch the AFP Mental Health Program Advocacy with the goal of promoting mental health awareness.

CSAFP ORDERS TROOPS IN MARAWI CITY TO GO AFTER TERROR SUSPECTS

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City—The Armed Forces of the Philippines seeks to wrap up operations against the Daulah Islamiyah and the perpetrators of the terrorist attack at the Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City on December 3.

General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff of the AFP, led the Command Conference on December 4 with senior military officers from the General Headquarters and top commanders in the Western Mindanao Command where he relayed the orders of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr in response to the terrorist attack.
