AFP Chief attends Basa Runway Dedication Ceremony

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Chief of Staff, Armed Forces of the Philippines, General Romeo S Brawner Jr PA attended the Basa Air Base Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement (EDCA) Runway Dedication Ceremony on November 6, 2023 in Floridablanca, Pampanga. 

Defense Secretary Gilberto C Teodoro Jr, and US Deputy Chief of Mission to the Philippines, Mr. Robert Y Ewing headed the ceremony, which marked the completion of the runway's rehabilitation.

AFP opens 2023 DAGITPA Exercises

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City--The Armed Forces of the Philippines Joint Exercises Dagat-Langit-Lupa (AJEX DAGITPA) officially opened today, November 6, in a ceremony presided by General Romeo Brawner Jr, Chief of Staff AFP, at the General Headquarters here.

AJEX DAGITPA will involve more than 1500 active and reserve forces from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Special Operations Command and Cyber Group in staff, command post, cyber defense, and field training events in the Northern Luzon Command area of responsibility that will last until November 17.

New Leaders Take the Helm at AFP's Western Mindanao Command and Office of The Inspector General

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) held a joint change of command and chief of office ceremony for Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM) and Office of The Inspector General on Friday, 03 November 2023 at the WESMINCOM Gymnasium, Camp Navarro, Upper Calarian, Zamboanga City.

Lieutenant General William N. Gonzales, who previously held the position of The Inspector General, AFP, officially assumed as Commander of WESMINCOM. Prior to his previous position, he headed the Joint Task Force Sulu and 11th Infantry Division in concurrent capacity. He is a member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Makatao” Class of 1989.

Filipinos pay respects to Heroes at Libingan Ng Mga Bayani

CAMP AGUINALDO, Quezon City – A total of 84,300 citizens, including families and loved ones of the departed, have visited the Libingan Ng Mga Bayani (LNMB) from October 31 to November 2, 2023, to give tribute to the heroes of the country during the national observance of Undas. 

On November 1 alone, a total of 42,790 visitors flocked LNMB during the observance of All Saints’ Day. The national cemetery serves as the resting place for soldiers, Philippine presidents, national heroes, patriots, artists and scientists. Currently, there are a total of 53, 548 interred in LNMB.
